Pt. 2 Christmas Tree Lane Walk in Pasadena/Altadena

I've always wanted to take a walk on Christmas Tree Lane in Pasadena/Altadena, and since last week had some rain in the forecoast, we're going back to Christmas Tree Lane. So, please join me as we a take a nice leisurely stroll on Christmas Tree Lane.

Meeting Time: Please arrive at Food 4 Less at 7:30pm. Walk will start promptly at 7:45pm. Walk will take about 1 hr and 30 mins.

Meeting Place:

Food 4 Less
1329 N Lake Ave
Pasadena, CA 91104

Food 4 Less is at the corner of Lake and Washington.

We will start from Food 4 Less to get some exercise and avoid the parking nightmare that is sure to be near Christmas Tree Lane.

Parking: There is free street parking on Lake and streets north and south of Washington.

Parking in the Food 4 Less lot is not advised.

Pace: This will be a social stroll. We will take our time walking up to Christmas Tree Lane. Bring your cameras and take pictures.

You are welcomed to go faster or slower than the group. It's an easy walk back to Food 4 Less from Christmas Tree Lane.

The entire walk is about 4 miles of flat sidewalks and roads, with some inclines, and will take 1 hr and 30 mins.

Since there are no sidewalks on Christmas Tree Lane, Please wear light colored clothing and bring a flashlight.

It was a magical feeling walking the gentle incline of Christmas Tree Lane lined with illuminated giants-- more than a hundred year old Diador Cedars. It felt like we were in the mountains. There were few street lights & those were not right on the Lane, but displaced a few feet to the east. No city sidewalks & houses set back from the Lane lended a rural feel to the neighborhood. The rock lined drains running along both sides of the street & the little rock bridges leading to every house gave me the sensation of being in a mountain village, not a city subdivision. The air was cool, crisp & felt so clean. I could look up & see the stars.

The walk was a great choice & the cold air & holiday atmosphere transported me far away from Lake Street, the Metro Gold Line & Food for Less.

    Thanks David!!!!!

It was wonderful and lovely. Almost didn't make it because of traffic, but so glad I did! Thanks to David for thinking of this.
