What we're about

This group exists for the purpose of organizing gatherings for Wakeboard, Stand Up Paddling (SUP), Skateboarding (Longboard) as well as any other board/balance sports in Singapore. Whether you are already skilled in these areas or keen to learn a new sport this group is for you. Our focus is primarily on activities for recreational purposes (not racing/competition). It is also for people out there who already have some experience with these sports and are looking for activity partners. Through this group we will explore a variety of activities in a variety of locations in and around Singapore.

SUP is also a great alternative health and fitness solution. If you love the outdoors and want to exercise outside the confines of a gym this group is ideal for you. A SUP session is a full body workout that will help improve your core strength and develop cardiovascular fitness at the same time. It is also highly therapeutic and helps to reduce stress.

In this group you will learn about the basics of SUP, improve your overall health and fitness, have paddling partners for encouragement and progression.

Typical activities will include a pre-paddle discussion, stretch and warm-up, 1-2 hour paddle session, post paddle discussion with an option for a food and drinks afterwards. The goal is to grow the group large enough to have monthly family fun events with games and challenges.

SUP is a truly wonderful activity that can be done by anyone and is great for children through to those in the latter stages of life.

In addition to Stand Up Paddling, we will also hold meetup sessions for the following activities:
Longboard (Skateboard) cruising, introduction and learning the basics of skateboarding on a longboard.
Inline Skating - Park Connector skate sessions, East Coast Cruise, Urban Skates, Improving your skills.
Wakeboarding - Cable Park Sessions
Kite - Power Kite Flying (an introduction to kite flying skills that will help prepare you for for the transition from wakeboarding to kiteboarding)

Please note I have expanded the original scope of this group to include additional sports rather than create separate Meetup groups for each to make things more efficient.
