This is a Meet Up group for Salmon Bay Paddle, a Seattle based Mobile Paddle Board and Kayak instruction and tour school owned by SUP guidebook author and expert PSUPA certified instructor Rob Casey. We work with all body types, physical levels and ages novice through advanced. Many of our students lives have been transformed by SUP! We also have strong focus on safety so you have more fun.

Classes Available:
1.5 hour SUP Basics - Includes all gear and expert instruction - Sat and Sunday 9am.
SUP Basics 3hr Class (Level 1 or 2) Includes all gear, expert instruction and class review - Sat & Sunday 11am.
SUP Surfing - Learn to surf in WA! We start on small waves. Everyone catches a wave!
Tidal Rapids Fun in Deception Pass - Learn how to paddle a SUP in current! Great Sound training course.
Freighter & Tug Wave Surfing - Learn to Surf waist to chest high waves in Seattle. Spring-Fall only.

SBP Skill Levels:
Beginner – No experience on a board or limited skills. You aren’t comfortable on bumps, have only paddled a few times and/or haven’t fallen off a board yet. Take our SUP Sampler, SUP Basics or Fundamentals Skills.
Level 1 – Advanced Beginner: You can stand with ease, can turn, and can fall off and get back on your board. Some experience with bumps such as boat wakes or wind waves.
Level 2 – Intermediate: Solid flat water paddling skills: ability to turn and stop with ease in flat or bumpy water. Some rough water experience – ability to manage small boat wakes, small wind waves and/or navigate gentle current. Experience wind waves to 3′, wind to 20kts and surf to 4′. Able to self or group rescue in rough water.
Level 3 – Advanced: At least 2 years of paddling experience in open water, river and/or surf. Comfortable with large wind waves to 4′, surf to 6′ and/or fast moving current and winds to 30kts. Able to self or group rescue in rough water.
Who Shouldn't Sign Up? You can't swim; You don't want to wear a leash and PFD; You might be a no show for a trip your RSVP'd on; You don't care about safety.
