Film Discussion in Modesto

We try to stagger the films (1) religion-philosophy-art (2) science-history, and (3) social policy. December's film-discussion will be on policy--Michael Moore's "SiCKO" [masked]h03). A documentary comparing the highly profitable American health care industry to other nations, and HMO horror stories.

This is a reminder that the Chapter Grant Fund is open and all chapters are encouraged to apply!

One of the benefits of being an AHA chapter is that your group has the opportunity to apply for program grants annually- ranging from $300 to $2,000- from the AHA’s Chapter Grant Fund. Chapters must submit a proposal and explain how your chapter will measure the effectiveness of your project.

The Chapter Grant Fund Application opened November 1, 2013 and will close January 31, 2014.

To complete the application, please go to: http://americanhumanist.org/What_We_Do/Local_Groups/Chapter_Grant_Fund You can also go to AHA’s website to find the application:

    1. Go to “Get Local”
    2. Then, “For an already existing group”
    3. Then go to the first bullet under “What benefits we provide chapters”

I love that you're coming! But can we devote the first 45 (maybe less) mins to healthcare, and then discuss your good work overseas? Also, I was thinking about setting up a special meeting specifically to discuss your work.

I think it's better to do that. I'm interested in this topic too (because I don't know much about it!).

I hope you don't mind if I join-- I've not taken part in any events there yet, but I'm moving to town in January and would like to get to know you all!

There's a chance I might be late, since I'm coming from Fresno and need to stop in Tracy first, but I'll do my best to get there before 7!
