What we're about

We are a Star Trek Fan Group, working in screen accurate costuming with the purpose of celebration of the Star Trek Franchise, Role Play, and most importantly, Charity work. The group will be split into ships. Each ship will be dedicated into different eras of the Star Trek universe. Please inquire to group organizer to star your very own ship. Currently we are staffing our flag ship the USS ARTESIA (the costume is the Next Generation movies and second half of DS9). Welcome to Star Base Alpha Prime!

Restaurant Exploration and Trek Talks at Black Bear Diner

Love Star Trek? Love food? Join us for a monthly, Wednesday-night get together as we dine at various restaurants around Orange County and San Bernardino County. Currently, we do not have any discussion topics in mind, we are just planning a night of casual conversation and delicious food. This event is especially great for new members who prefer a more personal one-on-one with several of our senior officers. Please note: The venue will change each month. FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST, we will be dining at Black Bear Diner in Fullerton. Escape to the woods in the middle of the city! Sit at our bar in one of our uniquely carved wooden chairs (be sure to note the puns on each one!) or relax in our comfortable, cozy, cabin-like dining room If you are thinking of joining us, please RSVP or leave us a comment on Meetup. If we have an accurate count, then will be sure to reserve a few tables so everyone can sit together. (But for this one, we may have to sit at the bar for the full experience.) We hope to see you there. We welcome all Treknobabble and nerds who are looking to meet other nerds like themselves!

Kayaking in Long Beach

5411 E Ocean Blvd

Join the USS ARTESIA on a two hour kayaking expedition around the Naples Canal and Alamitos Bay. We have a lot of coastline in Southern California with a lot of opportunities for water activities. This will be our first kayaking adventure as a group. You do not have to know how to kayak; we definitely are not experts. We just want to have fun as a group, so the priority will be to stick together. If we have a lot of attendance, we may possibly split into two groups as some areas of the Naples Canal require traveling single-file. We are planning to purchase tickets ahead of time from KayakRentals.net. There is a possibility for a group discount if we have a group of 20 people or more. Please fill out the online liability waiver ahead of time. *If you want to participate but do not want to kayak, there may be an option to explore the area by foot. This will be especially good if you want to bring your dog.* COST: The price is $10/hour per person. Group discount: $6/hr (minimum of two hours) WHAT TO BRING: o Comfortable clothes that you wouldn't mind swimming in (in case you inadvertently end up in the water). o Hat to keep the sun off your head and face. o Sunscreen as it is easy to burn while kayaking. PARKING: Free parking in Belmont Shore. Specific streets will be added at a later time. FOOD: If there is interest, we can eat at a nearby restaurant after we kayak. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS/WAIVER: The company requires that you must know how to swim and be in good physical condition. We will be reviewing boating etiquette before the event. Please fill out the online waiver ahead of time. EVENT MAY BE CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER: Inclement weather may cancel this event. KayakRentals.net states, "Closed if unsafe or unfavorable weather."
