3rd Meetup - expanding connections in tech in the HV

Last Meetup we had new members with much to contribute, and a discussion/brainstorming session about Pam Hoode's plans to build a co-working space.

Since the last meeting we learned of Nitya Narasimhan's Google Developers Group - Hudson Valley (GDGHV) and the Google I/O event in Beacon this past Tues/Weds, and Hudson Valley Tech Meetup (HVTech) launched this week in Kingston - with great momentum.

The July 15th Meetup will include a presentation by Mark A. Brown on his project - Lesson Forge, a presentation by Nitya on GDG-HV, codelabs, and more...and we will continue the discussion of tech startups in the HV.

Thanks!

    Hi Everyone.

Given this patch of stormy weather expected through Wednesday, it is pretty difficult to know what the local weather is going to be like even a few hours in advance. If by say 4pm, signs point to severe weather (flooding, cloud-to-ground lightening, high-winds), we'll cancel the meeting and reschedule.

    Anyway, hope we're on,

Hi Eric - understandable. I just got home and was weighing options here. Sorry to do this but in that case can I do my talk at your next meetup instead? I wish I could do a hangout but we have the propensity to lose power so that may not be ideal and I don't want to get caught in the storm on the drive home.

Nitya- next time - absolutely. This weather is very difficult to make plans around.
      Thanks,

    Hi Eric,

Thanks much for the opportunity to do a quick talk, but more importantly, to just make connections with local techies. I hope to finally get a chance to meet you all in person!!

    Cheers
    Nitya

    Hi Nitya-
I was going to ask if you could speak at this Meetup. Planning on a location on Poughkeepsie side. An overview of Google I/O '14 would be great.

Nitya - feel free to present on Google I/O, codelabs, your efforts organizing Google Developers Group - HV, and your other interests. That was my intention - you beat me to it...

Sounds like a plan. I'm all for it!

Hi Nitya! I'd be happy to get an overview. I watched Google I/O from White Stratus's office in Beacon and learned a ton, but I'd be happy to get more information.

I hope you had a good time!

Hi everyone -- I just got back from Google I/O this past week and there was of course a lot of exciting news coming out of that event. Let me know if you would be interested in a short overview of this.

I live on the Beacon side of the river so hope to make this if the location/timing suit.
