GovHack is returning to Ipswich and Fire Station 101!
GovHack is a weekend where creatives and designers, developers and programmers, entrepreneurs and business leaders, and anyone with a keen interest in data join forces to make a difference using freely available open source data.
Find out what GovHack is all about here: ( http://www.govhack.org/ )
You can bring your own team, and or join teams created at the event. It will be a great opportunity to learn, grow, and meet new people.
Some teams may create working prototypes, while others may find ways to better visualise the data. We work with the skills and strengths in the room to help everyone get the most out of the weekend.
We provide data, food, and wifi. You bring your laptop and ideas. Collectively, we will make a difference and have fun in the process!
Friday - 6:00pm til 9pm / late: Kick off and ideation
Saturday - 8:00am til 5pm / late: Hack away!
Sunday - 8:00am to 6:00pm: Hack, wrap up, and judging / submission.
This year is unique with Ipswich City Council, joining in with the State and Federal Government to release open data as part of our award winning Smart City program.
Participants are invited to be creative with the datasets, with examples including better emergency response, more efficient city transit, improved environmental management, sustainable city planning, and more!
More details on data sets and tools coming soon.
Bring your personal passions and perspectives to focus available data on challenges and opportunities that are important to you!
