Digital Games have become a mainstream media. It’s the entertainment of choice for most millennials; its revenue has surpassed movie box office revenue in 2013; its impacts in the arts, education, commerce, marketing, even in the military are growing fast.
Digital game research and development has a substantial footprint in the Monterey Bay area: CSUMB established curriculum in Game Design and Game Development; USCS offers a graduate degree in playable media; Santa Cruz has a healthy independent game industry; DoD designed
its US Army Games here; the Naval Postgraduate School and CSUMB co-founded CimGame.com to explore games in the military.
Join us with faculty and experts in the region at the Innovation Salon to connect and brainstorm opportunities in digital game related education, research, development, and industry.
