Hi all,

Startup week is upon us!!!!  (yay!)

We have just added two new events...so check them out here:

NEW EVENT 1 - Tuesday the 13th at 6pm: Open Night at the Connected Community Hackerspace

The Connected Community Hackerspace (CCHS) is a community workshop, sometimes also known as a Makerspace. They are run by members for members and are dedicated to providing facilities, tools and networking for members to achieve their projects. Our members work on personal and group projects.

Visitors and newcomers are very welcome!

What do they do?

Collaborate, Share, Talk, Hack, Make, Break, Fix, 3D Printing, Electronics, Programming, Robotics, Prop Building, Costuming, Milling, Machining, Home Automation and more.

Register for their open night here.

NEW EVENT 2 - Tuesday the 13th at 6pm: Off the Cuff!

As part of Startup Week Melbourne,  the crew at Sitepoint are hosting a fantastic event for up and coming startup founders.  It is called "Off the cuff"!

HOW DOES IT WORK?

• a founder (or potential founder) has 5 minutes to describe their circumstances and ask for feedback for a problem they are grappling with

• a panel of ‘experts’ has between 5 and 10 minutes to ask questions and offer feedback

• the audience watches (and perhaps participates)

• We’re testing this format with the aim of contributing to a culture of learning in our local startup ecosystem. If people like it we might make it a regular thing.

WHO IS IT FOR?

The event will be perfect for:

• startup founders grappling with product, distribution or monetisation issues

• potential founders who want feedback on ideas, team building and capital raising strategies

Beer and Pizza  is provided.  Come along at 6pm!  Places are extremely limited.

Register here.
