Please note the change of venue to the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Theatre. The refreshments will be in the Richard Berry building as usual.

What are current students learning about statistics? Are they equipped to deal with modern-day challenges in data analysis, including dealing with 'Big Data'? Who are our students and what do they expect to learn from us?

We bring together a diverse panel of educators to discuss their respective approaches to statistical teaching and to ask how we can best prepare the next generation of statisticians.

Panellists:

Chris Lloyd (Melbourne Business School, University of Melbourne)

Anastasios Panagiotelis (Business and Economics, Monash University)

Luke Prendergast (Mathematics and Statistics, La Trobe University)

Julie Simpson (Population & Global Health, University of Melbourne; Biostatistics Collaboration of Australia)

Panlop Zeephongsekul (Mathematical and Geospatial Sciences, RMIT University)
