Kevin Unhammer will present the Apertium language translation platform: http://wiki.apertium.org/wiki/Main_Page
This will be a presentation of the Free and Open Source, Rule-based Machine Translation platform Apertium. We'll start off with a short intro to MT methods, to compare Apertium's "rule-based-but-knowledge-light, Worse-Is-Better" approach with the other main paradigms. Then we'll go into some detail about the various modules of the Apertium translation pipeline.
Finally, you'll get a few practical examples of how you can use Apertium's language data and tools for your own projects :)
Here is the flyer (https://docs.google.com/drawings/d/1t3h_pjwEYmh23kRoIGCOG832xuzAZWyRrSP2-bEkwO4/edit?usp=sharing) for the talk.
