Using mindfulness, we will collectively explore stage presence- what it means to be present on stage, and how to cultivate our charisma naturally through meditation exercises specifically designed for actors, dancers, and performers of all types.
WHAT TO WEAR: Comfortable clothing to move freely in. Hair tied up and out of the way. Shoes and socks will not be worn during the workshop.
WHAT TO BRING: Nothing! Just your rockin' kickin' selves. Maybe a notebook, if that helps you.

ABOUT THE TEACHER: Katherine Rogers is a graduate of Tisch School of the Art’s BFA Acting program, and was a Zen Buddhist nun in Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh’s tradition.
At NYU, she encountered the acting work of Grotowski and connected to his ideas. Since then, she has been developing work around several questions: What is stage presence? Can it be learned and developed as a skill? Can the sensation of ecstasy a performer feels when they are deeply connected to themselves, their instrument and the audience be felt in simple, everyday tasks?
She temporarily sought refuge in a secluded setting, took monastic vows, shaved her head, and lived as a Zen Buddhist nun in upstate New York, in order to devote herself completely to deepening her understanding of presence and developing her work.
Now she resides in NYC, privately coaching performers and public speakers on stage presence.
