The Organizers wish to remind each member to wear sturdy hiking boots and bring with each of them plenty of drinking water. Hiking poles are useful if you have them and don't forget the camera ,maybe a snack for the rest stop at the halfway point. Restrooms are available at several places along this proposed route . Redwood park is dog friendly ,if you bring your dog can he/she hike the distance of this event without issue, you'll have to decide?

Fantastic hike! The scenery along the trails was gorgeous, with lush greenery, beautiful ferns of every variety, and towering Redwood trees everywhere. Wow! What an incredible display of all the beauty nature has to offer! The weather was nice and cool, and the trails provided a good mix of uphill and downhill terrain, so that the hike was a challenging and really great workout! As always, enjoyed seeing members of the group I already know, and then meeting some new people as well. Thanks to Chris and Kirk for organizing this wonderful hike! You definitely hit it out of the park with this one!

Regarding the 8 am start time: I think most of us would prefer a later start time but if we don't get into the park early enough there might not be enough parking for everyone and weather this time of year is unpredictable, it could be 65 to 95 degrees and on a moderate++ hike it makes for a much more pleasant hike when its cooler. For future reference, as we get closer to summer most of our hikes will be starting at 8 am and possibly earlier.
