Social engineering is often seen as an unsophisticated tool used by miscreants to cause disruptions when their technological prowess lacks. In truth, social engineering can be just as dangerous, if not more so, than a computer exploit. This discussion will examine what makes social engineering campaigns effective, including how these attempts exploit the human psyche, as well as how to mitigate these threats.
