It’s all about Fun, Friends and Ukuleles! 1. Help a beginner or novice learn to strum. 2. Play some live music with fellow ukulele players in a relaxed bar/restaurant setting. It’s fun and now here’s your chance! Burgr’z on 8 restaurant/bar has partnered with Steel City Ukuleles to offer a “Ukulele Test-Drive” monthly beginner strumming event. You can help folks learn to play a basic song or two, and even sit in with some more experienced players. We guarantee (almost) that anyone can play a song in less than 10 minutes. Ukuleles, basic song and instruction sheets are provided – all you have to do is show up. Any Steel City Ukulele player is welcome as well as friends. Burgr’z on 8 is a family-friendly establishment, has a great menu, with (of course) some of the best burgers in the area. The bar includes lots of cold drinks, including domestic and craft beers on tap. Try a beer or martini flight and/or have a Burger! Get ready to Play-Sing-Teach! Check out the Burgr’z on 8 website (https://www.burgrzon8.com/) for the menu and more details. Come over, bring your uke, sing, play and stay for the evening. It’s all about Fun, Friends and Ukuleles!
Come and play ukulele with us at the Unitarian Universalist Church of the North Hills on the first and third Mondays of each month. All levels of play are welcome, and we are novice-friendly. Some people who come have never even held a ukulele, and if you contact Sandy ahead of time, she will bring an extra ukulele for you to try. Try Ukulele.... It's Really Fun! Music is usually selected from "The Daily Ukulele... 365 Songs for Better Living," by Liz and Jim Beloff. This book is readily available at music stores, book stores, and Amazon.com. Sometimes members bring other music to play (bring 15 copies to share). We play seated in a circle. Bring a music stand if you have one. Snacks and libations to share are always welcome. For more information, contact Sandy at [masked] Directions to the Church: Take I279 North to Wexford exit. Turn right at the end of the exit. Right at the light onto Brandt School Road.
