Come to Hambone's Pub early for a bite or snack, a refreshment, to socialize, and tune up. We play from 5 to 7 pm. Bring "The Daily Ukulele: 365 Songs" by Jim Beloff (http://www.amazon.com/Daily-Ukulele-Living%C2%A0%C2%A0-UKULELE-Paperback/dp/B008LBBP2M/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1358350617&sr=1-2&keywords=daily+ukulele), if you have a copy. And please bring your music stand. Drew, our leader for this jam, will call the songs. If you have a song you know well and want to play, bring 20 copies, and you will lead that number.
Jam Agenda: From Drew .....
As "leader of the pack" / facilitator for the SCU "Jam at Hambones" on January 27, I would like to see us start off with a few familiar warm-up songs from "The Daily Ukulele: 365 Songs," Five Foot Two" (page 82) video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLr861VlcAM), "Edelweiss" (page 75) video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQPJFPe4J5Q) , and maybe one or two more.
Then let's try a small tribute to "The Day The Music Died" (February 3, 1959) with a couple of Buddy Holly tunes and one by Ritchie Valens: "Donna (http://files.meetup.com/6060022/Oh%2C%20Donna.pdf)," "Everyday (http://files.meetup.com/6060022/Every%20Day2.pdf)," "Oh Boy (http://files.meetup.com/6060022/Oh%20Boy.pdf)," and "That'll Be The Day (http://files.meetup.com/6060022/that%27ll%20be%20the%20day.pdf)". You can click on each song name here for a printable file or you can find them each in the FILES section of this MeetUp page. You can also download a complete playlist for this Jam at January 2013 Jam Playlist (http://files.meetup.com/6060022/January%202013%20Jam%20Playlist.pdf).
Then let's go 'round the circle and jam to your suggestions. Either you can kick off the song, or someone else can kick it off for you. If you want to do a song that is new to the group, please bring extra printed copies.
Finally, we will make time for anyone who wants to share a song that they are working on. We all enjoy hearing a new tune.
The goal is to keep it simple and HAVE FUN!
Looking forward to a great first "Jam at Hambones." Drew.
