What we’re about
Steel City Ukuleles promotes community, entertainment, performance and education among ukulele enthusiasts in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. All players are welcome, from beginners to professionals.
A SCU First: Neal Chin is coming to Pittsburgh!
On his way to Altoona's Uke Soiree, he will be stopping by the Burgh to share his uke knowledge with us! And this workshop is just for Steel City Ukes and will not be taught at the Soiree.
Minor Swing - Django for ‘Ukulele
Guitarist Django Reinhardt revolutionized both the guitar and how it was played, creating his own sound and bringing his music to the world. His classic Minor Swing is a wonderful place to enter into his music and to take a look and some of the colorful sounds of playing in a minor key. We’ll learn how to play the tune, take some time finding our swing, and in the tradition of the tune, learn how to solo ala Django!
Workshop 7-8 pm, concert 8-8:30 pm
Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at Eventbrite:
