Laser Music Show and Sky Show at Brevard Community College Planetarium

Hello Friends. How about a group trip to the Brevard Community College Planetarium.

Jeanette and I have been here many times and we always have a great time. We hope you can join us.

I will provide more information about the shows and music as soon as possible.

Here is the link to the BCC Planetarium web site:

On Friday nights the Planetarium features three different shows:

At 7:00 PM Is a sky show on the Planetarium domed ceiling.

At 8:00 PM Is a large format Film (Like IMAX).

At 9:00 PM Is the fantastic Laser Light show which features popular songs and rock concerts with synchonized Laser light.

You can join us for 1, 2 or all 3 shows. You will have to pay for each show individually at the Planetarium before the show starts.

Here is the pricing schedule. I spoke to the management and if we get a small group together we may get a better rate.

Adults $8 per show
Seniors, Military, Students $7 per show
Observatory Always Free! Exhibits Always Free!

They accept: cash, personal checks, MasterCard, Visa, Discover & American Express.

Tickets are available only in person at the Planetarium Box Office for same-day purchase.

The box office opens one-half hour before the first show of the day;
1:30pm on Wednesdays, 6:30pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

Please note: Special event pricing may differ from the above schedule.

Jeanette and I will be there for all three shows. There are also free exhibits and the observatory to enjoy between shows.

If you have to choose only one...the Laser show is my personal favorite. The music ranges from The Beatles to Pink Floyd and everything in between.

In the coming days I will try to get the names of the three shows that will be featured on this evening, and I will pass it on to all of you, so you can decide which shows you would like to see.

Jan and I really love the Laser Music shows and we actually rented the Planetarium for our Rehearsal party and dinner the day before our wedding.

Just a word of caution...the music can get VERY LOUD..and there are lots of strobes and flashing you can really get your groove on.

There are usually only a few other folks in basically we may have the place to ourselves.

We will be looking for you in the lobby before each show. We hope to see you there.

UPDATE:: Here is the show schedule for this date:

7 PM Cosmic Perceptions SKY SHOW

Cosmic Perceptions -

The way we view the universe around us depends upon how our brains interpret what our eyes see. This presentation takes you through the eye, down the optic nerve, and into the human brain to show that our viewpoint affects what we see. The show also examines the Hubble Space Telescope, the "Big Bang" Theory, and ideas about the universe from ancient Stonehenge, Egypt, and classical Greece.

Whales -

Take a dive with the largest creatures ever to live on Earth! Our latest offering from Destination Cinema, National Wildlife Federation and Zephyr Productions features "breathtaking" film of blue whales, right whales, humpbacks, orcas and dolphins. Come eye-to eye with killer whales as they locate and hunt their prey; experience the poignant and mysterious whale song. Bring the whole family, you're sure to have a whale of a time!! (sorry about that, couldn't resist -ed.)

9 PM U2 Laser Experience LASER MUSIC SHOW

The U2 Laser Experience -

The music of Ireland's finest rocks the dome in this compilation of hits. Tunes ranging from Discotheque to I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For fill the planetarium with sound, while we fill it with fog, lasers, and unique imagery. Definitely not for the faint of heart!

Athough we had a smaller turnout than expected, we had a great time seeing many of our new friends. Jan and I have been to the Planetarium many times, but we never saw the U2 Laser Music show.....and it rocked. The sky show and the movie about Whales were both very informative. The management gave us all a discount which was appreciated. There were only a few others in we pretty much had the place to ourselves for our group. I want to thank all of you that joined us and I look forward to seeing you all again real soon.
