Monthly Meeting @ Asda Stevenage

This is our regular meeting at Asda Stevenage, on the 3rd Thursday of every month.  A wide selection of other peoples board games are usually available to play, but feel free to bring some of your own.

FOR NEW MEMBERS THE FIRST MEETING IS FREE.

For the rest of us a £2 donation requested which goes towards meetup.com registration fees.

To get in you need to go to side entrance - as shown below. There is security door so you'll need to buzz to get in.  The door is usually locked these days (they probably noticed all these beardy people wandering in every month or so), so now you need to stand there pressing the button.  Of course, no-one ever replies to the buzzer, but the smokers will see you standing there pressing the buzzer and will let you in (it's never failed so far!)

Everyone must sign the visitor book which is in front of you as you enter.  To get to room turn right and follow corridor around "training room 1" is on the right just after toilets.

Facilities:  The room is spacious and air conditioned / heated, and hot water is available if you want to bring your own cup/teabags etc.

Carpark is £2.00 which is refunded if you make a purchase in store.  We have been told by the Asda contact that attendant finishes at 6pm so parking after that don't worry, but take that at your own risk and all that (it's been ok so far...)

I can good sir (now that we appear to be moving toward a more formal naming convention!). Its Level 7 (Omega Protocol). Similar play style to Descent but with far superior mechanics apparently. Complexity somewhere between Galaxy Defenders and Earth Reborn.

In case you're wondering the cost in M&M's is two large yellow bags of peanut M&M's...

Thoroughly enjoyable evening. Played Lewis and Clarke resource management game. The Theme was exploring America! I felt honour bound to buy Daniel Boone for my team and then never powered him up! Historical background very nicely done.

Zombies? What zombies? The only things I found were a pile of indians in America and a leaky boat :-)

I say, I say, I say, my dog has no teeth. How does he eat? Terrible. Hmmm, that needs a bit of work. Unfortunately, our dog has indeed been for a "dental". Which, apparently, means a general anaesthetic and pulling about 1/3 of his teeth out. This means he can't be left alone for the evening (not least because he keeps trying to wander about and leave bloody dribble spots on the carpet) so my fun is curtailed. John, if you want to stop by and pick up DoW to play then let me know.

Assuming I am able to make it... then I will be bringing Netrunner, as it is sadly the only game I currently own, although it technically isn't a board game....
