This is a meeting place and discussion group for folk living in Stockholm who are interested in trying to live a good life using modern Stoic philosophy. We will focus one aspect of Stoic thought and practice each meetup, and discuss it together.
The Stoics used various practical techniques for vastly reducing negative emotions, many of which have been adopted into Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. However, they also believed in cultivating good character in the form of four virtues: wisdom, courage, justice and restraint.
Anyone interested in discussing Stoicism is welcome, even better if you've already done some reading about it and have tried to apply it in some small way to your own life.
Note: The group started off in December 2019 and since the pandemic this spring it has been reasonable to hold on-line meetings. This is still reasonable to go on with on-line meetings even this autumn of 2020 because of the probable risk of a second viral wave. Please follow information on facebook group Stoicholm as well.
