March for Science and Earth Day Festival (Stockton)
This year's Stockton March for Science coincides with the 30th Annual Stockton Earth Day Festival. Let's show up for both! (We'll have signs for the march and a booth at the festival.) About the March The one-hour march will start at 10 am. Show your support for Mother Earth. Give a shout out to science, technology, engineering and math. Meet up at stage area for a brief welcome. Then marchers will spread out on the sidewalk around Victory Park and do a "Chain Reaction". About the Festival The Earth Day Festival will feature environmental and science-related booths, along with food, entertainment, and kid-friendly activities. For more information, visit http://www.livegreensanjoaquin.org. About our Booth The purpose of our booth will be to increase awareness of SAAF and help people meet some atheists and realize that we aren't that bad, and we LOVE SCIENCE and the Earth! Our table will have some friendly literature that discusses atheism and Humanism, without insulting those who believe otherwise. We'll also have information about SAAF and other local groups. If you can attend the table, even if only for an hour, please RSVP. It would be great to have 3-4 people at all times during the day.

What we're about

Public Group

Welcome to the Stockton Area Atheists and Freethinkers!

We are a group of non-believers that focuses on community involvement, social events, education and information, and activism.

Most of our meetings are held in San Joaquin County, from Lodi to Manteca -- though we occasionally join efforts with our friends in Modesto, Sacramento, and the Bay Area.

We have a number of repeating events, including "Drinking Skeptically", game night, brunch, highway cleanup, colloquium, and more.

The Stockton Area Atheists and Freethinkers has no monthly dues, and no mandatory attendance. We're just looking for like-minded people who believe in good.

Be sure to follow us on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/StocktonAtheists), too.

Sincerely,

David Diskin
