What we're about
Upcoming events (5+)
You are invited to join the San Joaquin Valley Writers--we've been meeting since October 2015 to network and support each other in our writing adventures--from experienced writers to folks just getting started. All ages are welcome. We are in the process of becoming the 22nd branch of the California Writers Club and the only one in the San Joaquin Valley. Each month, we have an inspiring speaker and after we form small and friendly critique groups. Members can bring up to five pages of double spaced writing in progress to read aloud to the small group and get tactful and useful feedback on then writing. Bringing five copies will let others read along as you read aloud from your copy. People love it! Sometimes the critique groups go on until 4:00, so the 2:30 end time is when the speaker and business part of the meeting is over, usually. Who We Are (http://calwriters.org) California Writers Club, founded in 1909, is one of the nation’s oldest professional clubs for writers.
