"My first Progressive Web App"

Progressive Web Apps have been on everyone’s minds for a while now. But there’s a lot of miscommunication about what they are, what they’re not and how difficult it is to build one. In this talk Dan will give quick, easy steps to help you start turning your websites into PWAs, covering:
• What Progressive Web Apps are
• Why you should build them
• Web manifests
• Service workers
• Why HTTPs is needed
• How to review and audit your PWA
• Current browser and device support

After this talk you will take away these snippets and begin building your first Progressive Web Application straight away!

Barry Cook
"Space: The Final Frontier - A Brief Look at Technology in Satellites"

There are currently about 1500 satellites operating in-orbit around Earth - and a few more around other planets.

Space provides an environment that is both beneficial and problematic. Freed from Earthly constraints, new and better scientific studies are possible but there are also new and more extreme challenges that have to be faced for missions to be successful.

We'll take a quick tour of the various sensors and actuators on-board (some familiar and some unique to space) and what's needed to keep everything working.
