StoryCode Immersions - Popcorn Deep Dive

July's Immersion will focus on technology. We'll be taking an in-depth look at Popcorn. js, the Javascript framework that enables time-based interactive media. Popcorn makes video work like the web. Using Popcorn you can create interactive pages and applications that supplement video and audio with rich web content, allowing your creations to live and grow online.

We'll be rolling up our sleeves and digging into code so bring your laptop and your favorite text-editor (that is capable of displaying line numbers). This Immersion is definitely not for the faint of heart. Please be familiar with HTML, CSS and have a very basic understanding of Javascript. We'll distribute code samples and review these during the session.

If you've worked with Popcorn before bring your own project to share and discuss! Please feel free to contribute your own experiences on these topics during the workshop.

StoryCode’s Immersions are a “get your hands dirty” series of working sessions meant to educate and share knowledge about the various complexities involved in creating successful immersive media projects. These sessions are highly interactive and intimate. Please bring your computer and be ready to participate.

This will be hosted in the "flex space" near Lincoln Center Elinor Bunin Hall. The Flex Space is off to the left if you are looking at the Elinor Bunin theater entrance.

Great overview of the basic functionality of Popcorn.js - looking forward to seeing more about that technology and others in the future.
