Happy New Year everyone! For our second expanded Transmedia NYC event we are excited to have two presenters:

Mike Monello / Campfire NYC () - Mike will discuss how he sees the split between those who think Transmedia should be pure entertainment and those who see it as marketing.

Mike Monello's work as producer on The Blair Witch Project was an early transmedia success - a $22,000 movie that became a $248 million hit. Mike later co-founded the New York based agency Campfire, which has created award winning campaigns for wide-ranging brands and numerous entertainment companies. His work includes innovative transmedia campaigns for HBO's True Blood, Sega's Beta-7 and Discovery's Frenzied Waters. A vocal force in the world of transmedia storytelling, Mike has spoken at many prestigious events, including Futures of Entertainment at M.I.T. and panels at SXSW Interactive.

Vladan Nikolic / Writer and Director of ZENITH () - a retro-futuristic steam-punk thriller, about two men in two time periods, whose search for the same grand conspiracy leads them to question their own humanity. The film is part of a larger transmedia story universe and will be screened in New York at the Kraine Theatre, January 19th to 26th. Vlad will discuss the making of the film. We will view a trailer and he will guide us through a few of the different rabbit hole scenarios. He will focus on the construction / world-building point of view.

Vlad is an award-winning Director, producer, editor, and writer of feature films, documentaries, shorts, commercials, and music videos. He was formerly the Director for NTV Studio B, the first independent television network in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. His feature film, Love, premiered at the 2005 Tribeca, Venice, and other Film Festivals, where he won the Best Director Award and critical acclaim. His most recent work includes producing the feature Here and There, which won the 2009 Best NY Narrative Award at Tribeca Film Festival, and writing, directing and producing the feature film ZENITH.

We will webcast this Meetup as well and are working on an improved video solution.
