  • Quiz Night @BTP - Einsteins' R Us!

    Boston Tea Party

So what a change in our fortunes at the BTP Quiz Night! It was a case of third time lucky as a remarkable performance from the Stratford Meet Up team 'Five Go Quizzing' resulted in a fabulous first prize scoop! Well done to you all with an amazing score and a wonderful effort by our two other teams who I believe raced each to a photo finish! So we are going to do it all again, we can have up to six per team so I've booked three tables and at £2 it's a wonderful cheap (well depending if you stay off the beer?!) and fun (even without🍺!) night out with a cash prize to be won as our teams have proved! Look forward to seeing you there 😊

  • Elton John 'Rocketman' film at The Picturehouse

    Stratford-upon-Avon Picturehouse

The film starts at 15.15, so if we meet in the Picturehouse Bar at 14.45 it will give us a chance to have a drink and a chat before the film. We will buy tickets when we have all arrived, so that we can all sit together. Please come up to the bar area - if you wait down at the ticket desk won't know that you have arrived . This screening is eligible for Silver Screen members and Meerkat discounts. Director: Dexter Fletcher Starring: Jamie Bell, Richard Madden, Taron Egerton Duration: 120 min ROCKETMAN is an epic musical fantasy about the breakthrough years of larger-than-life superstar Elton John (Taron Egerton). Set to John’s most beloved songs (performed by Egerton), it tells the uncensored human story of how small-town boy and shy piano prodigy Reginald Dwight became one of the most iconic figures in pop culture. ROCKETMAN also stars Jamie Bell as John’s longtime lyricist and writing partner Bernie Taupin, Richard Madden as John’s first manager, John Reid, and Bryce Dallas Howard as John’s mother Sheila Farebrother. Dexter Fletcher, who took over directorial duties for the smash hit musical biopic BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY, is at the helm.

  • An afternoon with Rubbish Friends - Litter-ally!

    Trevelyan Crescent

Don't be put off by the title! Rubbish Friends began in March 2017 with the idea of bringing a dozen or so local residents together to litter pick in Stratford on a regular basis. They now have over 1600 members of all ages, backgrounds and abilities who come together and have fun looking after our beautiful town. They have attracted interest from all over the country and have helped groups to get going nationwide and members of Rubbish Friends have found it has helped them reduce social isolation and loneliness and for some it is a proven path to well-being. And it's quite addictive! Picks take place monthly, predominantly on a Sunday morning; however I thought I would gauge interest with this first outing for Meet Up members. If anyone is unsure on the location and would like the additional exercise I am happy to meet you outside the Cafe opposite Anne Hathaway's Cottage at 1.30 pm and we can walk the short distance (18 mins) to the meet point. All pickers, tabards and buckets will be provided; however if you have a spare pair of gardening type gloves you may want to bring them. Come along and spare as little or as much time as you can to help clean up our local environment whilst getting fresh air and exercise and hopefully having fun in the process! Family and friends are most welcome too. http://rubbishfriends.org.uk/
