• Choral music at our very own Stone Henge. Well, Rollright Stones.

As, "It says on the tin" I guess. Sounds great to me - The Stratford Festival Orchestra (and choir) performing at the Rollright Stones. Should be atmospheric and different. Mr Kemp at his creative best, no doubt. No pressure Simon :)

  • It's that lovely night of the month again! Stratford Jazz Jam. Best of evenings

It's difficult to oversell this one - just a great evening out. Wonderfully relaxed atmosphere, great music (yes GREAT music, even you jazz cynics would be impressed), friends, a few drinks, laughter and chat. (Volunteer host anyone? I’ll be there at the start but need to nip out at 8:15 pm for a quick taxi-run)

  • After Work Chill & Chat at Caffine & Machine

    Caffeine & Machine

Relaxing get together after a hard day at work! Lets meet up at this unique venue and hopefully sit outside in the sun enjoying a drink and a chat. They do serve alcohol (despite the name) and simple bar food is available for anyone who doesn't want to cook when they go home :-). This place used to be The Houndshill Pub and is on the Banbury Road between Stratford and Ettington. CV37 7BS Website: https://caffeineandmachine.com/about-us/

  • Film: 'Yesterday' (music of the Beatles) - at The Picturehouse

    Stratford-upon-Avon Picturehouse

The film starts at 15.15, so if we meet in the Picturehouse Bar at 14.45 it will give us a chance to have a drink and a chat before the film. We will buy tickets when we have all arrived, so that we can all sit together. Please come up to the bar area - if you wait down at the ticket desk won't know that you have arrived. This screening is eligible for Silver Screen members and Meerkat discounts. Director: Danny Boyle Starring: Lily James, Himesh Patel, Kate McKinnon Duration: 117 min From Danny Boyle and Richard Curtis comes a British musical comedy about dreams of stardom and unexplained phenomena. Aspiring singer-songwriter Jack Malik (Patel) is struggling with his career. He’s just a man with big dreams and a guitar, loved and supported by his childhood best friend, Ellie (James); and he’s far from famous. Until one day, during a mysterious global blackout, a car hits him and he comes round to find that nobody remembers The Beatles – apart from him! Feeling obliged to bring the legendary melodies of the Fab Four back to life, and with a little help from his steely American agent (McKinnon), Jack rises to global stardom faster than you can say, ‘I believe in yesterday.’ But he may have taken on more than he can handle.

  • Stratford River Festival - it's a great day out. Please read all notes for this.

Most of you will know the river festival - live music, market stalls, bars, food, but best of all, chat, laughter, friendship. I will update sometime over the weekend or next week about meeting place etc but the idea will be to be there all day (I will anyway) - until after the fire works at night. Bring your own picnic rugs and/or seating or whatever. Dip in and out of the group as suits. It'll be a hoot.

  • Saturday evening drinks

    The Falcon Hotel

The usual - a few drinks with chat laughter and friendship. Thought we'd have chance to have a nose at the newly refurbished Falcon too.

  • The 🌟 and the 🌒 on Saturday Afternoon! Brought to you by SFOC

Waterside benches, opposite Encore & McD

If you are unable to make the gig at the Rollright Stones next month this is your opportunity enjoy a sneak preview of the songs to be performed by Stratford Festival Orchestra & Choir as they commemorate 50 years since the Moon landings; with songs such as Rocketman, Space Oddity, Across the Universe and Sky Full of Stars, what better way to spend a pleasant hour in the sunshine on Waterside opposite the Encore Pub! This is a free event but there will be a charitable collection for the Shakespeare Hospice. PLEASE NOTE this is an un-hosted event but I'm sure you'll find some choir members in The Encore afterwards, tho not necessarily for an encore!

  • Jolly Good Quiz Night @BTP - Einsteins not essential!

    Boston Tea Party

Here we are again happy as can be... but who know's where that song came from? The BTP quiz night is really all about (as the song goes onto say) good friends and good company and you don't have to be an Einstein (but if you are can you be on my team?!) We have three tables of six again and at £2 it's a wonderful cheap (well depending if you stay off the beer?!) and fun (even without🍺!) night out with a cash prize up for grabs as our teams in the past have proved! If you sign up and can't make it please take yourself off the list as this is a popular event, and if it's full but you are local it might be worth popping in anyway as there are often places and if you can't find a team the cakes are worth a visit!
