We have a new window of opportunity to reduce - and hopefully eliminate - the corrupting influence of money in Virginia politics. As the new Virginia legislature prepares for its 2020 session, we hope to advocate for specific policies to sharply reduce the ability of corporations and wealthy individuals to far outspend 99% of Virginians. Please join us.
The new Virginia General Assembly will be seated on January 8th. The annual sessions are short, about two months. This is a good time to begin conversations with our elected Delegates and Senators about proposals to enact common-sense limits on corporate interests and enhance the value of small-dollar contributions. We can also discuss ways to move to public financing of elections. We have some ideas and welcome yours.
