Perhaps we could have a similar and or shorter retreat like this, this fall when David arrives?

Here is a look what our Sister Sangha in MA is up to:

Mind Beyond Death Retreat
August 3,4,5 from 9 am-5 pm the three days will filled with short meditations, contemplations, DVD clips from Ponlop Rinpoche's 2007 Mind Beyond Death Retreat and a daily discussion group.

On Aug 4th @ 5:30 pm Everyone ( non retreat participants as well ) is invited to watch a 90 min DVD  of the Tibetan Book of The Dead narrated by Lenard Cohen followed by a pot luck dinner.

"Mind Beyond Death" by Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche

Study Group
Begining 9/7 and continuing until 12/7 ( every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month from 6pm -7:30 pm :7 meetings )

To discuss:"Moonbeams of Mahamudra The Classic Meditation Manual" by Traleg Kyabgon Rinpoche

This is a wonderful opportunity to engage in a group study of one of the greatest meditation manuals that Tibet has produced. Studying this manual may have a profound effect on the way you approach not only meditation but life in it's entire context. Anyone interested in participating in this study group should be willing to commit to the following:

1- keeping up with the reading
2- engaging in daily meditative practices which will include the techniques we will be studying
3- participants will have read/ studied the first 111 pages before our first mtg.

This is a 419 page book that requires studying as well as reading!  Suggest participants acquire the book a sap  and begin reading/studying in preparation for our first mtg. The last time Alida and I studied a similar text in a group context we took two years and read the entire text twice. I have designed these sessions to complete the book in seven sessions.
