Join us to celebrate the holiday season with some food and wine. SoW is taking a break from the formal education in Dec. so that we can all put into practice what we have learned about food and wine with a "pairing party."
The parameters of this event are as follows:
Each attendee (couple) will bring a dish to share and a wine that pairs with that food. Everyone will bring an index card to be placed next to their dish. The index card will state:
* Your name
* The food item
* The wine that was selected for the pairing (name, producer, varietal, region, vintage)
* 1-2 sentences about why you chose that wine to pair with that food.
If you prefer not to bring a food item - please choose a dish from the list that will be posted and select a wine to pair with that food. You will also write out an index card with the above items listed on it (i.e. dish you chose, wine, why you believe they are a good pairing).
At the end of the night all of the index cards will be thrown into a pot and three will be randomly drawn out for door prizes!!
Please list in the comments what food item you will be bringing. More detail would be better than less in case someone else is trying to pair a wine with your dish. If you are bringing a food item please have it listed in the comments by 4 days before the event and please do not change it within four days of the event so that others may have time to choose their wine if using your dish.
No one needs to disclose which wine they are bringing before the event. Suggested retail price for each wine is $25+.
