Range Shoot, then Pancakes

A bunch of people asked for a weekend morning shoot. So let's see how this goes. I do apologize to anybody whose church this interferes with.

Let's shoot for about 90 minutes. We'll have pancakes at Princeton Restaurant Pancake House afterwards.

Article II range does have guns to rent for about 20 dollars if you do not have your own. I'm not going to charge on Meetup for lane reservation unless people really prefer it. Please call Article II ahead of time and reserve a 10AM lane prior to the event, or pay the fee at the range on the day of the event and share the lanes I have reserved.

Hi Greco - glad you had fun. I will write you tomorrow with some good classes in the area. Sorry we didn't have more time to walk you through basics. Glad to meet you!

I love to go shooting but it's definitely more fun when you can do it with a nice group of people. Since I like to eat the Pancake house was a great choice as well. Thank you for putting this together Lesley and it was very nice to meet so many new people.

arv.. i think the sig is a nice gun..i have a 238"zombie edition(lol) that I have been waiting to fire... the 226 is sweet... they have a lot of different types... i think the "extreme 226" is nice but not sure where to find one.. sig makes quite a few different versions.. there is a specs chart on the website that lists everything about each gun, so you can see the info all in one place.. anyway.. I think some 226 have special trigger, or accessory rail, or threaded barrel, ect. i was actually thinking of a glock27 gen 4 for next purchase... or the other subcompact that uses a 10mm round.. but i think they sold the former at the nearby store...,,,....

niicceee.. the elite... SRT... is it new?? where did you get it.. gander doesnt have a good selection usually,... I saw the p938 nightmare.. but didnt want display.. i am in the market for another pistol..

      February 23, 2013

    • Arvi

The Elite comes standard with SRT short reset trigger. I got it at MegaSports, they have a pretty good selection. If you are in the market depending on your budget a Sig or Glock.

I cannot make it this time around. Was looking forward to learning, sharing ideas, and getting to know one another. Looking forward to shoot-dinnner event though. Best wishes to all....

I don't have a lane either, so hope someone will adopt me.

Didn't get a lane booked in time, anyone want to share? I'm planning on bringing the revolver.

What is the cost for lanes?

    February 18, 2013

    • Michelle

If you have an NRA range officer what is the group rate?

      February 21, 2013

    • Lesley

Its a fee for the range itself, so it depends on how many people you have there. For 12 people, it's a bit less.

      February 21, 2013

  • Sue B.

Can I share a lane again? I learn a lot more when I watch other people shooting....plus i just can't commit to my own lane, it's too soon...(lol)

    February 8, 2013

    • Lesley

I'll have at least one extra, too.

      February 9, 2013

    • Michelle

Anyone else want to share a lane?

      February 21, 2013

  • Michael

Got a hockey game at the same time :(

    February 18, 2013

    • Lesley

      See you next time :(

      February 18, 2013

  • Phil

    Hi Arvi,
I personally do not have a P226 (wish I had) however, you might be able to rent one at the range. Just a thought since this is an expensive gun and you might want to shoot more than a few rounds.

    February 17, 2013

    • Arvi

Agreed. Article II does not have Sigs for rent but Gat Guns does. I am going to stop by and run a couple of hundred rounds through one there. Luckily they have the exact model I was planning on getting.

      February 17, 2013

  • Arvi

Hi, I was wondering if anyone attending this event owns a Sig Sauer P226 and would be willing to let me fire a couple of shots? I am seriously thinking about getting one of these and would like to try one out before I put down a lot of money. :-)

You know I.'ve never been to a indoor range but it must be like shooting .22's in the basement

    February 2, 2013

    • Lesley

You know, for winter shooting, it's not a bad range. They're big enough to allow rifles and shotguns.

      February 8, 2013

  • Hector A M.

I would like to go but I'm from Indiana, I don't think I can shoot on Illinois. Or Can I?

    February 1, 2013

    • Arvi

      Cool see you then.

      2 · February 2, 2013

    • Lesley

      See both of you, soon!

      February 3, 2013

  • T

thanks Arv.... will try and reserve tomorrow.....

    February 1, 2013

  • T

look forward to meeting and shooting. am somewhat new to shooting.. have been waiting for the chance to try out my pistol. i figure this is as good an opportunity as any.. should i reserve a lane also? want to take it slow since I am new. dont want to get in anyone's way .. recommend reserving lane???

    January 31, 2013

    • Arvi

Hi Tony, Yes I would reserve a lane. Sharing lanes is not fun since you are waiting for the "other" guy to finish. And as a not too experienced shooter myself you want the time to shoot and learn.

      1 · February 1, 2013

  • Sue B.

Maybe I can rent a gun that actually shoots this time!

    1 · January 30, 2013

  • Arvi

So I called Article II to make a reservation for this meetup and they say no 9am time slot - it is 8:30am to 10am or 10am to 1130am. Are we going for the 830am or the 10am time slot? My preference is 10am and then we can do brush :-)

    January 24, 2013

    • Kelley M.

I just booked myself for 10:00 a.m. as well.

      January 24, 2013

    • Phil

Reserved a lane for 10:00am as well. Looking forward to meeting you all.
