Bring your favorite vegan picnic fare to Twin Lakes for an afternoon of food and fun! There's sand volleyball, basketball courts, children's playground, a paved trail for walking, biking or rollerblading, and boat rentals (paddleboats, kayaks, canoes).
We will meet at our usual spot in a grassy area by one of the pavilions. If you are in the main parking lot and facing the lake you will take the trail to the right and follow it around toward the pavilion. (NOT the pavilions near the playgrounds/volleyball courts.) For all new members or if you haven't made it to a potluck yet, all potlucks are family friendly. Children are always welcome.
Please bring a chair or blanket, serving utensils, place setting with utensils, napkins, drinks, etc. All food should be vegan (no meat, eggs, dairy, honey, or other animal by-products). Bring a list of ingredients to place by your dish and post your recipe on the message board for others to share.
In case of rain we will meet in Atherton Hall at Countryside Church in Palatine.
Liz, can you post the recipe for the pineapple carrot tofu cake? I've done some searching on vegNews and Tofuhouse but this was the closest thing I could find: http://aliensdayout.com/2011/10/carrot-pineapple-cake-with-tofu-cream.html
