Welcome to Suburban Cyclists Unlimited! We are a non-profit community of recreational cyclists riding at various paces as we tour the roads and trails of our surrounding counties in Southeastern Pa, predominantly in Montgomery and Bucks. Weekday and weekend rides are available as well as social and bike events throughout the year.

You can visit our club website at www.scu.bike

You can join this Meetup to get notifications of upcoming rides. It is open to members and prospective members. As a Meetup member you are welcome to try some of our many rides as a guest. If you like riding with us (we promise you will), we hope that you will join the club by going to https://tinyurl.com/scumembership . When you join the club you will enjoy benefits such as discounts at local bike shops, participation in club social events, a discount for our Century rides, club riding gear and more. Membership is only $25 per year for an individual and $35 per year for a family.

Sunday PerkD Ride

Needs a location

Please join us for a 12 mile D level ride Sunday October 2nd. We will start from Schwenksville Borough (Meadow Park Parking Lot) and ride up to Crusher Road Trailhead. This is an up and back ride. This ride is mostly flat and we'll maintain a speed between 8-11 mph. Afterwards, coffee?

Ride Yer Bike Tue RIDER APPRECIATION (12-13, 13-14, 14-15, 16-17 mph, 41-50 mi.)

  • Please sign up so we can know how many to expect.
  • Upper Dublin H.S. starts will have porta-potties but not water. Central Park and Centre Square Park will have bathrooms and water.
  • Check day of the ride if weather is iffy (rain cancels, but likely to reschedule for Wednesday). Will make a call at least an hour prior to start time.

JOIN US FOR OUR RYBT RIDER APPRECIATION CELEBRATION, A JOINT SCU AND BCP EVENT. Whether you are a regular, or a first timer perhaps taking a mental health day off from work, come ride with us as we celebrate the 2022 riding season at Pizza Time Saloon in West Point (8 miles from the finish).

We'll have 4 paces available, each riding the same route to the first rest stop (Heebner Park @ mile 14). After that all groups will ride a similar route, but with each adding some miles so that we can arrive around the same time.

Expect good company on safe/low trafficked roads and relatively mild terrain for the area (we do get to go up Bean Rd. though). We'll regroup as needed, but be prepared to maintain the posted pace. Must also be willing to ride safely and obey traffic laws.

Today's routes (cue sheets will not be provided):

Horsham 11-12 mph ride NEW START TIME 5:30 PM

Let's ride, rather than sit at home, watch tv, and eat. We will ride until dark.

Friday Frolic w/LMc, Every Friday throughout the year, weather permitting

FRIDAY FROLIC w/Linda. THIS IS THE GENERIC DESCRIPTION. SPECIFIC DETAILS WILL BE POSTED ON DAILY CALENDAR FOR EACH FRIDAY.
Level B-: 14mph, 45-50, +/- miles, based on the weather. Start location to be determined. The ride leaves at 9:30 am. Enjoy scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. Explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Please check daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map provided for each ride. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk, or snow activity. As long as we are enjoying outdoor exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing. Cue sheets will be available.
