PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE AN ONGOING WEEKLY GROUP WITH MEMBERS WHO DO NOT REGISTER ON MEETUP. SO - IF YOU'RE INTERESTED - PLEASE COME, EVEN IF YOU DON'T SEE OTHERS SIGNED UP FOR A GIVEN SUNDAY. THANKS!!!
We practice mindfulness meditation and principally follow the Zen tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh. We also explore the wisdom from other wonderful teachers.
Cultivating mindfulness means paying attention to what is going on inside of us and around us. Too often we live in forgetfulness - our body is in one place but our mind is lost somewhere else. When we bring mindfulness into our everyday life - to our thoughts, emotions, speech and actions - we are able to embrace all aspects of ourselves, better able to deal with anger and other negative emotions, and can experience life more fully.
We meet regularly on Sunday mornings, 9:00-10:30am, at Yoga Shunya studio: 275 Grove Street, 3rd Floor (across from City Hall).
Beginning meditators - and those with no experience - are always welcome. Donation is optional ($5-10 suggested) to support the yoga studio. Cushions, mats, and chairs are all provided. Just wear comfortable clothes for sitting and walking!
