Internationalization and Accessibility in iOS Apps

Barry Ezell will discuss two topics that you normally find only in the back of iPhone dev books. Internationalization and accessibility may not be sexy but they're straightforward ways of making your apps attractive to a wider audience. In both cases, a little knowledge will go a long way. I'll cover: - Creating localized string files for different languages and using these in .m and .xib files - Strategies for localizing images (e.g., buttons with text) - Optionally overriding the default language - Handling different date formatting styles - Making your apps more accessible to blind users via VoiceOver This month we'll be at ValPak which is letting us use their excellent meeting facility. Please RSVP as soon as you can. The building is near I-275, South of the Howard Frankland Bridge and the directions can be found here:
VMC directions JPG . Please park in the General Parking area and use the Lobby Entrance.

The topic broadens our perspective on what we can do and how can we extend our reach beyond logistical borders. Thanks Barry

Make sure to see the map above labeled "VMC directions". Park in large parking lot between buildings. Follow awning-covered sidewalk to main lobby.
