The Star of Bethlehem will be presented on Dec. 20 and 21.
Back by popular demand, our Star of Bethlehem Planetarium presentation allows you to explore the question “What was the Star of Bethlehem?” Howard Hochhalter, Bishop Planetarium Manager, will lead you on this journey to Jerusalem some 2,000 years ago using the Planetarium’s ability to travel back through time and space and actually see the star configuration that the Wise Men say and date the birth of the legend of Christ, plus explain why they had to travel to verify their findings!
Who were the Wise men? Why were they interested in this star? Why was King Herod concerned? When did the Common Era really begin? What was the actual birth date of the Jesus legend?
Take a look at the skies […]

This has become a fun annual tradition with Suncoast Skeptics and I hope you will join us this year.
If you don’t have family in the area, or don’t feel like preparing an elaborate meal but would enjoy being served and with no cleanup and would love to spend some time with like-minded friends - please do join us for Skeptic’s Christmas on the Creek! (Thanks Gale for allowing me to plagiarize a bit!) We always have a great time on Christmas at Phillippi Creek Village Restaurant & Oyster Bar.
The restaurant has requested that I give them the final count two days beforehand, so please make your reservation by 11 am on the 23rd.
I hope you can join us for Christmas again or for the first time always with good company!

This is our monthly meetup to play trivia as a team at the Hillview Gecko's location. We will continue this meetup each month on the first Wednesday. This is not a discussion dinner as it is too loud to hold regular conversation. We play as a team against other teams in the restaurant. Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place are gift certificates for Gecko's, and when we place, we use the prize the next month on appetizers for our group.
