Hitler's Hollywood
Hitler's Hollywood D: Rüdiger Suchsland | 105 min | 2017 | Germany | RATING: Not yet rated (STC) Director Rüdiger Suchsland takes a startling look at Hitler’s Germany through the lens of its greatest propaganda device, the cinema. Between[masked], under the watchful eye of chief propagandist Joseph Goebells, the Third Reich produced over 1000 features—musicals, melodramas, costume dramas—that grew even more lavish as the horrors behind the camera escalated. Featuring extensive footage from key films of the period narrated by actor Udo Kier, Hitler’s Hollywood shows us how the Nazi regime spread their myths, illusions and ideologies through the movie screens and into the minds of millions. "Fascinating for history and film buffs alike." – Hollywood Reporter "A cavalcade of images, icons and ideas." – RogerEbert.com "A master class in the relationship between image production and ideology writ large." – Slant Magazine MeetUp Time and Ticket Purchase: Between 12:45 and 1:00 pm, Sunday July 22, 2018 Actual Start Time: 1:00pm Movie Duration: 105min Ticket Price: regular ticket price is $11.50 HOW TO SPOT THE HOST (John): John will be outside the theatre, or inside next to box office if weather is bad.
