What we're about

Sunday Assembly London is a secular community celebrating life!

We get together on the first and third Sundays of every month, sing some pop songs, hear some poetry, listen to great speakers talking about life, science and other fascinating stuff, sing some more songs and then have tea and cake.

Our goals are to LIVE BETTER, HELP OFTEN and WONDER MORE.

We're open to everyone, and our Sunday events are free (donations welcome, of course).

We also have social groups and fundraising events - find us on Facebook for more info on Sunday Assembly Social!

Sunday Assembly London: Global Goals

Online event

Welcome to our first virtual assembly! Our main speaker is Henry C. Blanchard, who left a boring corporate job to create an adventure sports business, set up a charity in rural Uganda, and travel the world. He now shows others how to do the same. If our current situation has taught us anything, it's that we are all in this together, for better or for worse. Everything we do has a real impact on others. Henry's talk will be about how we can achieve amazing things if we cooperate with one another and work towards a common vision. Sanderson Jones, our co-founder and a pioneer in the field of Lifefulness, will host this assembly. We will have a special poetry reading by Annie Perez, and Sarah Moore will tell us how she's "Trying Her Best". And it wouldn't be Sunday Assembly without some world-shaking pop and rock singalongs! Register in advance for this meeting: https://zoom.us/meeting/register/uZYtdumsrDIqUXxtkWhrqkvhlwACwjQ3xg After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. Sunday Assembly London is free to attend and runs entirely on donations. Please support us if you can to keep it free for those who can't. ๐ŸŽต๐ŸŽค๐ŸŽถ [ONLINE] Sunday Assembly London Choir Rehearsal ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽค๐ŸŽต

We are a non-audition, radically inclusive choir who rehearse every Monday in Waterloo. We sing a range of contemporary music styles - pop, rock, indie, soul, disco, and more! Prior to the coronavirus outbreak, we performed once a month, providing backing harmonies for mass singalongs at https://www.sundayassembly.com/, as well as performing our own songs without the audience too! As well as the monthly events, we performed about four times a year at Christmas and Evening concerts connected to this community, and have previously sung at Union Chapel, Westminster Hall and Conway Hall. Due to current events, we have moved our rehearsals online. Please join us via Zoom by installing Zoom and following the link: https://us04web.zoom.us/j/766155472 For more information, please email us at [masked]. Thanks!

Article Club #30 - via Zoom

Online event

The point of Article Club is to challenge ourselves to read a diverse range of articles, share them with like-minded people and deal with our anxiety that we aren't reading books. Article Club was set up by Ross Bailey in 2015 who did a fantastic job at running it. Ross was followed by the equally fantastic Claire Ferraro and I (Alistair Baker) took on its chairmanship in mid-2018. Here is a recap of how the Club works: 1. We meet about every six weeks or so in the National Theatre. 2. We vote for our favourite two articles from a short list and have a chat about them for roughly an hour. Usually one relates to politics/current affairs and the other to history/culture/science etc. 3. We talk about each one for around half an hour and the beauty of Article Club is that we can think more deeply about the broader themes of a topic, and how well the article gets to grips with them. 4. We each give a score out of 10 (based on any criteria you want) for the articles that have been discussed. 5. We set the date for the next Article Club and adjourn to the pub. OUR NEXT MEETUP: ARTICLE CLUB #30 Tuesday 14th April 2020, 7:30pm - 8:45pm(ish) - this time on Zoom due to coronavirus. I will add details of how to joing the meeting. You can vote for the articles you would like us to read hehttps://docs.google.com/forms/d/1JVBLZs8waVCS_DBL3L5MRqjVGNNTuviZw9ouTLavvcQ/editre:
