JOIN MEETUP FRIENDS FOR A RELAXED MIDWEEK EVENING WALK.... down the beautiful Salt Creek Trail to the magnificent Salt Creek Beach. We will return after the hike to Amber's Cantina, Fratello's Italian Restaurant and Kaleyard Chinese Restaurant for their Tuesday dinner specials!

ABOUT THE HIKE: This is a moderate paced 5.2 mile round trip along a paved bike path with beautiful views of the fragrant sage dense Salt Creek wetlands and the sounds of singing frogs! The trail has a few small hills, but is mostly gently sloped - suitable for both beginner and advanced hikers. We take a short rest stop at Salt Creek Beach with rest room and drinking fountain facilities.... and return along the same route to our Meetup parking area. The total hike time is approximately two hours.

GENERAL RATING/DIFFICULTY: Advanced beginner (moderate) for distance, elevation and pace.

ADDITIONAL NOTES: Regular walking shoes, not hiking boots, are appropriate as this is a paved trail. As day light becomes shorter, a flashlight may be helpful. The Salt Creek trail is dog friendly.

FOLLOWING THE HIKE: As an ongoing tradition of this event, many hikers following the hike enjoy the Taco Tuesday dinner special (two dollar beef or chicken tacos and two dollar Coronas) at Amber's Cantina. Kaleyard Chinese Restaurant is extending to hikers their five course lunch priced as a dinner special, twenty menu choices including beverage starting under nine dollars. Frstello’s Is offering their Happy Hour drink/appetizer specials to the hikers.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS: From the 5 Freeway, take the Crown Valley Parkway exit toward the coast. Approximately one mile south of the Laguna Niguel town center, turn left on Club House Drive. At the south west corner of Niguel Road and Club House Drive, turn into the retail center. Look for the group gathered in the parking area on the north side of the shopping center. Please plan to arrive five minutes early to provide time for a brief orientation and introductions.
