Hello Sunset, "Fun-Monday" hikers!

Leave all Monday worries behind and come join us for a fun Sunset Hike @ Crystal Cove trail in Newport Beach. It's an easy 4.3 miles hike around the pristine Crystal Cove beach and upper trail with beautiful sunset views of the whole coastline. It’s regarded as one of the most iconic, Summer California beach hikes you can experience.

ABOUT THIS HIKE: We will meet sharp at 6:15pm by the the Restrooms of the Crystal Cove Reef Point Lot (Cross of OCH & Reef Point Dr.). We will start our hike going down to the beach and hiking north along the shore passing the famous 1930's beach Cottages up to the Pelican Point cliff. There, we will go up to the Crystal Cove trail and back south, passing by the famous flag/museum (Crystal Cove Beach Cottages), Shake Shack, and finishing back along the beach ridge to the parking area. If you arrive late, please see the map above for directions on how to catch-up with the group.

DOG’s FRIENDLY: Yes (regular beach rules apply)

PARKING NOTE: You can park your car by the Reef Point Lot for a small fee (~$5) or you can also park across the PCH by Trader Joe's, and walk over to our meeting point by the restrooms of the parking lot.

After the hike, we will be gathering as usual for a group celebration dinner bite at Sharky’s @ the Newport Coast Shopping Center (21119 Newport Coast Dr, Newport Coast, CA 92657, USA ). Come early, make new friends, get healthy, enjoy the nature/sunset views!

ABILITY LEVEL: Beginners level. This 4.3 miles hike with no elevation gain and our pace should be about 3+ miles/hour for the whole hike. Make sure you are physically prepared for this type of exercise.

WHAT TO BRING: Typical hikers essentials, including good hiking shoes, water (at least 1L) and sun protection for the hot summer days are here. Because we will hiking by the sand for the half of this hike, we recommend long socks or appropriate beach hiking shoes.
