Writing Workshop - Connect to your inner wisdom
I have been sidetracked in organizing this Meetup due to unexpected deaths. But as a result of those deaths I have become very aware of how important it is to focus on joy in life. We never know how long we have on this earth! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I invite you into a safe and supportive space to gather and write, taking the time for yourself and for that inner wisdom that whispers to you from deep within. Music, writing prompts, poetry and guided visualizations will be used to free your heart, mind and pen. “Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing there is a field. I’ll meet you there.” ~ Rumi Bring a notebook, your favourite pen and your willingness :-) We will meet at Surrey Central Library. I have been in the room and it is tucked away in the back away from the hustle and bustle of the library, so nice and quiet for writing :-) Please pre-register Since the group is limited to 5 people, pre-registration is needed to reserve your space. Please provide 48 hours notice if you can't make it in order to offer your space to someone else. The $10 fee covers: My time, expertise and workshop space. Cash only - please bring $10 to the Meetup you will be attending Please note that I used to use Paypal, but some members have noted that it is easier for them if they pay in cash the day of the Meetup. I also have found some problems with Paypal. So I have changed to cash only please.

What we're about

“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing there is a field. I’ll meet you there.” ~ Rumi --- These workshops are a place to express what is in your heart. There is no critique or analysis of your writing. It is a space to come together and allow your free expression. Your writing can be fun, serious or irreverent — or whatever is in your soul. There is usually a wide variety of reasons why people join a workshop. Writing to connect with your inner wisdom is a wonderful way to spark creative ideas for your life, or a way to generate book plot lines, or a way to provide insight into an issue through which you are working. Writing to connect with your inner wisdom allows your spirit to soar. Writing prompts, music and poetry are used to engage your subconsious. My role as facilitator is to create an atmosphere of safety to allow for expression and for any sharing — although note that sharing your writing is optional.
