Join this walk led by Nigel, SAWW and SABRE’s groups co-ordinator and get a chance to meet the members of these two Rambler groups, who are on Meetup too.
Enjoy stunning views over the rolling South Downs down to the coast as we walk through fields and later go along the course of the former Devils Dyke railway line returning to the start at the Devils Dyke car park for lunch where you can have a picnic (the pub is very busy on Saturdays and we cannot guarantee you would be able to get in for lunch). Here you can see further great views out to the North Downs. After lunch we go along the dyke and down into the valley and head for the picturesque village of Fulking for a drink at their local pub and then return.
At the end of the afternoon you may wish to join us on an open top bus trip to Brighton for a stroll along the sea front and an early evening meal in Brighton. We return on the 8.00 pm bus to the Devils Dyke

Important note: the post code given will take you to the Devil’s Dyke Road approximately 1 mile south of the pub. From this location, go north and when the road bends to the right go straight ahead onto the narrower Dyke Road and follow it to the end.
This a figure of 8 walk, 6 miles am, 4 miles pm, Moderate terrain, one steep uphill at an easy pace in the afternoon

May I suggest that the organiser shares his/her mobile number with the attendees in the future? I got caught up in the traffic jam following an accident in the morning on the M25 and even though I managed to get out of it after a while, I was 20 mins late to Devils Dyke. Without any means to contact the organiser to let him know that I was on my way and check which way the group was setting off, so I could catch up, I felt very disappointed that I couldn't participate in the walk :(
