Carbon accounting is the practice of measuring and tracking all of the carbon that is released into the atmosphere as a result of a company's (or a person's) actions - that is, all of the carbon that they are responsible for.
Since "you can't manage what you don't measure," carbon accounting is the first step to understanding (and improving) a company's environmental and carbon footprint. Our speakers, the CarbonQ team, will be sharing with the audience how understanding a company's carbon footprint can help to measure the impact of sustainability projects on its emissions, and the bottom line is important. Next, the team will talk about how quantifying carbon emissions can prepare companies for compliance with industry/governmental standards such as mandatory reporting, Cap-and-Trade, or carbon tax. Lastly, the team will discuss the basics of carbon trading and share strategies to help companies achieve low carbon performances that will reduce operational costs, reduce non-compliance risks, and drive company participation.
