Sing with us - Swedish or not, every Wednesday night from September through May, and in four to five concerts a year. The Swedish Glee Club is an established SATB chorus of 22 members that continues a 110-year tradition of singing with a men's, a women's and a mixed chorus pieces. Everyone is welcome to try us out. Half of our repertoire is in Swedish, which has easy-to-pronounce, soft consonants and cool-sounding vowels. Don't fret because the other half is in English. Check out our website, swedishgleeclub.org.
After your third visit, our multi-talented director, Jeff Delay, will verify the best voice part for you to sing. You are eligible to apply for membership after attending six rehearsals. Members enjoy summer travel to choral conventions, e.g., New Haven, CT in 2012, Minneapolis, MN in 2014, and Chicago, IL in 2016. There is limited space for a concert tour to Norway and Sweden in July 2017 organized by the Portland Scandinavian Chorus. Coming soon in the 2017-18 season, the Glee Club will launch an a cappella group.
