Dinner and a Show: The Hard Nut at BAM and Caffe e Vino - NYC
Dinner and a Show: (registration and tickets here: www.swissskiclub.org/event[masked]): The Hard Nut at BAM and Caffe e Vino Brooklyn Academy of Music, Fri, Dec 14 Show starts at 7:30 PM Dine and Wine pre-show: 6:00 pm Mark Morris Dance Group’s beloved retro-modern reimagining of The Nutcracker comes back to BAM for the holidays. A cascade of wit and wintry beauty, this lavish, gender-bent love letter to the classic transplants E.T.A. Hoffmann’s original story from the straitlaced 1890s to the swinging 70s, with raucous parties, dancing G.I. Joes, whimsical costumes, and a Waltz of the Snowflakes like no other. Based on the comic book art of Charles Burns and featuring Tchaikovsky’s complete original score, performed live by the 53-piece MMDG Music Ensemble, Morris’ lyrical, modern retelling playfully preserves the warm spirit of an essential holiday tradition. For more information: www.bam.org/dance/2018/the-hard-nut Tickets are located in the Balcony Row C; the tickets are $32 each (normally $35). Please RSVP by registering to the event and purchasing a ticket. What we're about

SSC is one of the oldest Ski clubs in New York, founded in 1939 (more at: http://www.swissskiclub.org (http://www.swissskiclub.org/)) . We are a large, active, and fun-loving international group centered in the New York metropolitan area, hosting outdoor and indoor activities year-round. In the winter, we meet regularly in New York City and go skiing or snowboarding at our club's lodge in Waitsfield, VT, near the Sugarbush and Mad River Glen ski areas. During the summer and fall time we go hiking, biking, kayaking, either in Vermont or New York City area.
