To keep the right people you need to treat them right. But is it simply about free breakfasts , table tennis tables and beer on tap? For a start what if your tech company can't afford that?
And secondly surely culture goes deeper than lollies and good coffee (though... we need to put on record we are a unequivocal supporter of good coffee here at Syd Tech Leaders!)
And what is a high performing culture - what does that look like and how do you instil it? Its not about being a workaholic...Culture is about how you treat people, and whether they have a sense of purpose, and what "we're about" and what happens on the ground day to day.
Culture matters even if its a slippery fish to grab hold of and define clearly. And hot tech companies have reputations for some of the best culture (chefs to cook you dinner) and worst culture (think sexist, arrogant, etc...)
