• AI Meetup on 22nd Feb 2017 @ Startcon


    Our first AI Meetup for 2017 is on 22nd Feb. We look forward to seeing you all again. This month we have a talk about Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs) by Chong Wang. Chong Wang studied physics and maths, dabbled in financial trading. He recently applied RNNs to financial markets' time series data after studying machine learning at General Assembly. Our second speaker is Greg Baker. Greg is an award-winning freelance data scientist and consultant. He has written six books, teaches data science classes, advises on chatbots and NLP problems in industry, and has a client list which is a who’s who of Australian government, industry and non-profit. Greg will be talking about how to use AI and machine learning to avoid getting lumped at work with anything that’s going to take a lot of time or involve a lot of effort. He will talk about when natural language processing analysis of JIRA tickets can be more accurate than human estimators. Chong Wang’s talk will start at 6.00 pm.     We have two great speakers confirmed for our first AI meetup. Dr. Fang Chen - Group Leader, Analytics at Data61 Dr. Chen is a leader in AI at Data61 which speaks volumes given Data61's hundreds of PhDs in the field.
