From Classic to Cutting-Edge: Java's Multi-Threading and the Rise of Virtual Threads - Jad & Shumin
This talk provides a concise overview of Java's threading evolution. We start with the basics of Java multithreading and then introduce the advanced virtual thread model. The highlight is a comparative analysis with the async/await pattern in languages like JavaScript a#, showcasing Java's more efficient approach to non-blocking IO without overhauling method interfaces. This presentation offers valuable insights into the elegant and practical advancements in Java's threading capabilities.
Comparison of Traditional & Reactive APIs: virtual threads edition - Allan Patrick
With the release of Java 21, it is now possible to not wrap your heads around reactive APIs. But what should you use anyway? Let's go through the journey of trying to assess which one you should consider to use.
The evening is proudly sponsored by Atlassian, a company which needs no further introduction, and has been organised in collaboration with Lanson Partners, who are recruitment company based in Sydney. They specialise in Software Engineering, Cyber and Data Analytics.
We’re grateful for their support in making this event happen!
Join us at 5:30 pm for networking and speakers will kick off at 6 pm.
Hope to see you all!
