As part of the theme for the second annual MongoDB March Madness (http://www.mongodb.com/blog/post/announcing-second-annual-mongodb-march-madness) global user group activity, this month we will have technical talks from MongoDB engineers. For an added bonus, this will also be the first meetup held at the new MongoDB Australia office in Surry Hills.

Socialite - Darren Wood, Senior Technologist (MongoDB, Inc)

Socialite is a reference architecture and open source Java implementation of a scalable social feed service built on DropWizard (http://dropwizard.codahale.com/) and MongoDB (http://www.mongodb.com/learn/mongodb-architecture). It includes components for managing and storing the user follower graph, pluggable feed fanout models, and flexible content support.

This presentation will highlight some of the key design aspects of building a social feed on MongoDB and include a detailed walkthrough of the data model design.
