This is a free introductory class on HTML & CSS. We will cover the basics of both languages, with an intermediate class to follow next month. Our classes are open to everyone, so please share and bring a friend! A local downtown company, King + King Architects, graciously donated space for the class (see details and directions below).

About this class:

If you’re interested in building your own website, editing a current website, or want to dive into web development from the beginning, then this is the class for you! It is important to learn the basic elements of web development before going on to more advanced concepts and languages. This class will teach you how to structure a webpage with HTML and style it with CSS. We will guide you through the basics, answer any questions that you may have and leave you with readily applicable skills.

Prerequisites:

No prerequisites required!

Requirements:

-Please bring your own laptop, NOT a netbook or tablet.
-Install a modern web browser (Google chrome, Safari or Firefox)
-Please download a text editor before the start of class. We recommend Sublime Text 2 or 3.

Zoe is a freelance web developer with software startup experience. She is also enrolled in the full stack StartFast code bootcamp.

Details & Directions for King + King Architects:

King + King Architects, founded in 1868, is the oldest architecture firm in Syracuse, NY. The firm has an unwavering commitment to the local community and we can’t thank them enough for allowing us to use their space.

The King + King building is located on 358 West Jefferson St, off of West Street. Please note that you must take the service road to get there. The service road runs parallel to West Street.

If you are coming from the north, drive down West Street and take the big U turn at Fabius Street to get to the service road. If you take a U turn onto West Street you will end up driving past the building.

If you are coming from the south, make sure to veer right on the service road. There is free parking available in the parking lot across from the building.

Please call[masked] if you have any issues finding it.
